Helix Center Biotech Incubator
Creve Coeur, Missouri
Entrepreneurs thrive and grow more rapidly when given an opportunity to interface with and grow alongside peers in a quality incubator facility. In support of the rapidly growing bioscience and technology start-up ecosystem, the Helix Center Biotech Incubator was developed to augment an existing regional incubator network by providing specialized facilities to support the needs of this unique sector.
CED-Solutions leadership recognized that locating the Helix Center adjacent to the world-renowned Danforth Plant Science Center, the Bio-Resarch and Development Growth Park and Monsanto offered opportunities for collaboration and synergy that would benefit entrepreneurs as well as the surrounding entities. In addition to securing funding, CED-Solutions principals led the acquisition, design and renovation of an existing office building to create office and lab space to support early stage bioscience and technology companies. Start-up clients also enjoy access to a shared core laboratory along with specialized equipment, including autoclave, microscope, centrifuge, purified water and tissue culture rooms.
An advisory board of bioscience and technology professionals, including representation from the Danforth Center and entrepreneurial support organizations, was assembled to help inform the Helix Center service offerings and ensure alignment with entrepreneurial needs.
The approximately 51,000 SF facility was acquired, renovated and equipped/furnished with funding provided by U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration funds and County Revenue Bonds.
